Q: What is the CSEA Juneteenth Settlement?

Q: Why didn’t I receive an email regarding potential eligibility?

Q: The claim form is for 2022, what about 2021, 2023, and 2024?

A: CNUSD previously processed for Juneteenth 2021 and began recognizing Juneteenth as a paid holiday beginning in 2023.  

Q: What if I submitted vacation for winter break 2024/25?

A: If your claim is approved, your vacation will be returned to you in the amount of compensatory time approved for Juneteenth 2022.

Q: What if I worked during winter break 2024/25 and did not submit vacation?

A: If your claim is approved, and you did not take vacation during winter break 2024/25, you will receive further information for your unique compensatory time approved for Juneteenth 2022.

Q: Isn’t comp time earned at 1.5 times the hours worked?

A: This settlement provides for comp time at a rate of 1.0 times the actual hours worked on June 20, 2022.

Q: Who is eligible for the settlement?

A: Eligible employees worked or used available leaves (vacation, sick time, etc.) on June 20, 2022; held a position in the CSEA represented bargaining unit on June 20, 2022; currently holds a position within the CSEA represented bargaining unit; and submits the claim form by April 12, 2025.

Q: I can't access the form, it says to request permission.

A: The form is open to CNUSD emails.  Please try signing into the internet using your CNUSD email or try accessing the form from a district device.  

Q: How will I know if my claim form was received/approved/denied?

A: You will receive an automatic confirmation after submitting the form indicating your form was received. After the April 12, 2025 submission window closes, you will receive a determination email.
