CNUSD IB Mission Statement

Our mission is to develop an inclusion program of inquiring and caring young people who help to create a better world through intercultural understanding and respect. IB will challenge students in a rigorous, but nurturing environment, as they acquire the skills, knowledge, and study habits necessary for success at higher levels of learning and assessment.

Centennial IB Mission Statement

The Centennial International Baccalaureate Program aims to develop inquiring knowledgeable, and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end, the school works with the IB students, parents, and the community to implement a challenging academic program of international and rigorous assessment. This program encourages academically driven students across our community to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners.

What is the difference between MYP and DP?

The Middle Years Program (MYP) spans grades 6-10 in our district. Centennial offers grades 9-10 to our MYP students, which allows them to take rigorous coursework that will prepare them for college-level courses starting in the 10th grade and teaches them skills that will allow them to be successful in the Diploma Program (DP). The DP spans the 11th-12th grade years and prepares our candidates to earn an IB diploma. You can find additional program information under their respective tabs on the left-hand side of the page.
